For a class assignment, we were challenged to design a new logo for the Horticulture Department at St. Louis Community College. We participated in multiple critiques with faculty throughout the design process.
My design was inspired by the department’s greenhouse and the faculty’s request to highlight native Missouri plants. The purple coneflower, Missouri’s most well-known native flower, became a central element—I traced an image of it and placed it within the greenhouse shape. The second flower, a red sunflower, is not native to the region but was growing in their gardens at the time.
